The German trade companies operate a joint system that monitors the residues of pesticides in fruit & vegetables.
In the past the companies commissioned individual laboratory examinations of fruit & vegetable deliveries and also requested the suppliers to carry out examinations. In the future, all results of these examinations will be placed in the joint database at HDE to provide an overview of the pesticide levels in the fruit and vegetables for all participating companies.
All laboratories that would like to analyse fruit and vegetable samples for the participating trade companies and their suppliers need to satisfy minimum standards that have been defined by fruitmonitoring.com.
The fruitmonitoring.com system is based on previous practices. It does not create any new organisational processes to supplement the existing examination routines.
Every participant in fruitmonitoring.com must be clearly identified via the GLN (Global Location Number).
This number is issued by the GS1 organisation and is unique across the world.
